Writings are the thoughts of a writer converted on paper. They are the mirror of the writer’s mind and reflect all his feelings. No doubt writing is an art, which is not possible for everyone to do in a beautiful way. Most of the writers write when they have some inner feelings about their own self, their surroundings, the political and the economical situation, or the facts related to their professions. Writings are the expression of a writer i.e. happiness, guilt, sorrow, excitement, anger, frustration, or grief.

Ways for Writers to Organize Ideas

Different types of writing are the different ways of organizing the ideas in an effective manner to make the process smooth while writing and presenting them in a logical sequence so that they make sense.

• By choosing the right type of writing, the writer can make sure that he is expressing the feelings in a way that goes straight to the reader’s mind and heart. That is how a reader can indulge himself in the ideas and the thoughts of the writer.

4 Main Writing Styles

There are normally four main types of writing. They are Narrative writing, Descriptive writing, Expository writing, Persuasive writing.

Narrative Writing

Narrative writing is basically, telling a story. It tells a personal or fictional experience or tells a story based on a real or imagined event. It also tells personal or fictional experiences or tells a story based on a real or imagined event.

Descriptive Writing

Descriptive writing is to create a clear picture. It is defined as a clear description of people, places, objects, or events using appropriate details. An effective description will contain sufficient and valued details to communicate the complete sense of the subject being described.

Expository Writing

The third type of writing is expository writing. It is the type of writing that is designed to convey information or explain what is difficult to understand. It is defined as presenting logic, reasons and explanations used with an appropriate sequence of ideas. An effective expository writing should contain the main idea, supporting details and the final conclusion.

Persuasive Writing

Persuasive writing attempts to convince the reader to accept a particular point of view or to take a specific action. It is defined as presenting reasons and examples that influence the action or thoughts of the reader. Effective persuasive writing requires a clearly stated opinion, supported reasons, and sufficient examples that support the writer’s opinion.
